Welcome to this week's blurb!

First off, apologies for the delay in today's release! This week's banner was inspired by a build by a community member Hoogle. The banner was originally intent on being a bit more complex, but unfortunately, making it look like what I had planned on making it look like was going to take MUCH longer than a week, and, if anything, I'd probably burn myself out while also neglecting other parts of the blurb in the process. Making this banner, however, was certainly a learning experience in terms of figuring out lighting moving, as well as making it look decent in the first place. Again, after making that banner, my fingers were hurting quite a bit. I hold the pen very hard, what can I say?

Secondly, apologies for the delay from last week's blurb as well, I had family over, and I was also sick as well. Put those two together, and you have a not very fun time. Next time I'll make sure I chase out my visiting family and ban any germs that infect me from my servers. Also, probably the worst cold I've had in a while, I had to take quite the number of medications, AND I still ended up being sick for like two weeks, last week hit the hardest unfortunately.

With my grievances out of the way, let's take a look at what the community has been up to this week:

A good use of the first-person death camera, and an amazing space-tunnel-thing build!:

It really is just sick when people create tunnels to give the impression of space travel like this:

After that very epic warp sequence, now the ship has to be fueled up again in a dry dock:

Last very cool space pic I promise, you gotta understand this is a very cool build:

Great train-builds, imagine seeing this thing move on release:

Cozy town build, can you spot the silly amongus?:

Now we arrive at this week's user column!

Each week I will be asking members of the Brickadia community a question relevant to Brickadia at the moment, whether that be in regard to development, speculation, or even just hopes and desires surrounding the game itself.

The question this week is:

What do you think every newcomer should know about Brickadia once they start getting into the game when Brickadia launches?

remanedur

"I would say just don't worry too much about preconcieved notions or give too much credit to veteran members. The whole point of Brickadia is to give second wind to this type of sandbox and obviously that relies on new people picking up the game and Just Playing It. Veterancy is not actually as important as it may be made out to be, especially for something as open-ended as a sandbox. (as long as it doesnt end up like Roblox, at least lol)"

TheArmyGuy

"Dont feel like you should be able to build as well as some of the people you see in servers, they have a 10 year headstart with practicing. You can build stuff just as nice if you keep trying to build things you like making. Or just skip building altogether and play minigames in other people's builds."

FlavouredGames

"They should know that the resizer exists and not to just spam lines of bricks on the ground and they should learn how to optimize their builds."

And now for the weekly comic panel!:

For this week of speculation, we're briefly going to be discussing the potential release date of the game:

Credit: Sixmorphugus

How time flies by, this post was released August 5th, 2023, a little more than two months ago! And now that we inch ever close to next year, the hype for the release of Brickadia grows as well. As of right now though, we're all just waiting for the game to release. Reading the text in the image above though, it would be good to note that given that the developers have said that we will know a concrete release date two months in advance, and given how it is also noted earlier that they don't know if the game will be released earlier or later than the Q1 2024 release (which generally ranges across the months of January and March), it would probably be safe to say that considering we're halfway through the month, and that December is two months away as well, it could be likely that Brickadia will not be released before the end of this year.

While this may not be a surprise to anyone or anything ground breaking, it is something that is at least interesting to note for anyone hoping that the game could release earlier to any capacity. Of course, I could be wrong, especially given the fact that the release date could, if anything, literally drop the second I post this blurb (and if that does happen, feel free to egg me and slap me silly). However, considering how this isn't the first delay to Brickadia's release, I would like to imagine that we will likely see the developers make the best use of their time trying to "make it count", if you will. That's why I personally think that we'll be seeing Brickadia potentially release in March or perhaps just the slightest bit later.

However, if that's the case, you might say, then that means that if they want to get everything they want done and announce the release date two months in advance, then that means they only have about 3 months left if you're thinking March or later, or a bit more than 1 month left if you're thinking somewhere in January in terms of development time and getting a release date afterward. While this might not mean anything, for those that are worried about another Brickadia delay, it may seem a little grim putting things into perspective.

However, it's not very productive to be so pessimistic or even have a negative outlook when talking about the release date for Brickadia, is it? Given how much we've seen over the past 2 months just in terms of developments for behaviors and physics, 1-3 months may actually be all that's needed to finish those features of Brickadia in the first place. As a matter of fact, the watering hole has been quite dry for a bit now, and we haven't seen any new features or developments shared with the community in a minute. I would like to imagine that given the current release date shenanigan and the fact that we haven't seen anything from the developers in a small bit, we could be in a water-is-receding-before-a-tsunami moment. It's been a been a while since we've gotten the Physics Tech Demo video, which, if you haven't seen, I'll link here, so I'd like to speculate that we could possibly see another Tech Demo be released within the next couple months or even another blog post. Obviously the silence is either they are literally working or they are just on vacation, but I think that if there was a time for the developers to release a big video or a blog post, this would be around the time that they'd be doing that I'd say. Also yes, I am aware that they did release that "griefing in Brickadia" video, that doesn't count, grr.
