Welcome to this week's blurb!
Sorry for the 3 hour delay, I literally fell asleep while waiting for it to turn into 12 midnight lol. The fact this happened for the third time in a row actually shocks me considering this was straight up ready to go, I probably should've set an alarm just in case.
Yeah, I know, it's a little weird seeing the greggory head as a spider creature thing, but you gotta understand that while it was my idea, I didn't decide on that immediately.
As a matter of fact, this week's banner was decided through a community vote through the Patreon for this blurb, to which one person has subscribed to. It's actually funny cause they pretty much just decide what banner I make each week for the ideas I put out there. And for those of you out there that think you're missing out, well let me tell you what we could've had this week:
So, suffice to say, shoutouts to that one Patreon sub for picking this banner (you know who you are, lol). I will say, I still had a great time making this banner as I used the dry ink brush on Clip Studio Paint as well as the flat watercolor brush to make the shading for this. So while the banner itself is somewhat simplistic in nature, I feel the brushes used help the sketches pop out in that regard.
Now with all those shenanigans out of the way, let stake a look at what the community has been up to this past week:
This was made a long while back, but I thought it was funny seeing how someone made this and the banner we have today has something similar to this:

Now we arrive at this week's user column!
Each week I will be asking members of the Brickadia community a question relevant to Brickadia at the moment, whether that be in regard to development, speculation, or even just hopes and desires surrounding the game itself.
The question this week is:
The idea of adding animal NPC's, or at least pieces for them, has floated around the community. If you could have animals in Brickadia, what animals would you choose? How would they function? Would they also have cosmetic pieces both for themselves and the player?
"I think having a horse modeled sort of like the 'Real Life Building Block Equivalent' horse would be cool. We do have a horse emoji after all, so why not have a horse in game? I don't think having cosmetics for animals would be a very... important thing, but having the support for it would be good for modders, and that's a good enough reason it's own."
"Probably would be a horse, something that is somewhat useful, maybe have it move faster that the player, the cosmetics would probably be different armor pieces."
"If I were to add animals to the game, I’d absolutely love some sorta pets system. Having a little buddy (like a hamster in a ball!) that follows you around while you explore cool builds and that chills with you while you make your own builds would be so cool. I’d also wanna be able to interact with both my own and other peoples pets; if I can’t give them head pats I will riot. If we did get pets, I’d hope we’d be able to customise them with cool cosmetics to give them cute and funny outfits, and also be able to customise our Brickheads so we can match our pets outfits too!"
And now for the weekly comic panel!:
For this week's speculation, we'll be discussing the possibility of horses in Brickadia!

The idea of horses being a thing in Brickadia has long since existed even before the blurb even became a thing. The idea of riding around on a creature, hopping over obstacles, dashing through landscapes, doing cowboy hijinks, or even having a stable for horses is a very, very appealing idea to those who take interest in the idea of horses being in Brickadia. Who could blame them? While LEGO has horses, it's only natural to want rideable creatures in Brickadia. With that in mind, could horses or even rideable creatures ever make it into the game?
Early on in Brickadia, the hope to even have horses in the game is something that appears to be quite apparent, especially when you look at these two images:

Not only that, something to consider as well would be this image here:
What exactly does this mean?
This conversation was had before the release of the blog post "The New Avatar System: Player Parts" by Wrapperup on the Brickadia website (which, if you want to learn more about the charcter system, you can read here (https://brickadia.com/blog/the-new-avatar-system-player-parts/), which details how exactly customizing characters work and the introduction of the player part system. With this in mind, Sixmorphugus describes how they very much so do want horses in the game, and that the general implementation of course would be using the part system designed. It describes the system as being generic, meaning it can generally be reused to allow for different characters or things to be customized and organized in a similar way to what we see with player customization. Not only that, he describes details about movements for horses as well!
With this in mind, one of the contributors to Brickadia, known as Spiketickett (who created the crocodile hat you saw in the last blurb that was in the banner) went out of his way to make a potential design for horses in Brickadia! Below is the progress and the final end result of making the horse:
That last image isn't the end result, it's just Spiketickett playing around with the idea of a horse hat.
Considering all of this made around 2020-2021, and a few patches have passed since then, what some people may wonder is where in the world are horses and/or rideable creatures? While many features are hoped for in Early Access, it's clear that a huge focus for Brickadia is on behaviors, physics, and vehicles, considering most content from the developers and social media content is based on showcasing these systems in the first place. Understanding that, it helps to give insight with this comment by Spiketickett:
While this comment is mainly in reference to the idea of skis making it into the game as an item to ride around with, it helps provide some inference, albeit conjectural. Given that skis have been considered but can't really be implemented due to a lack of a system for it, then it's reasonable to conclude that the same would be for any rideable NPC in that regard. While that statement may be some conjecture, knowing that vehicles are still a huge focus for Early Access, it could just very well be the fact that we could see horses make it into Brickadia in Early Access along with everything else regarding vehicles, potentially even as a default vehicle.
Even though I really only have this speculation to run off of as to why horses currently aren't in the game or if they'll ever even be in the game, only time will tell once we get around to Early Access. If horses ever make it into the game though, I'll finally be able to recreate this:
Think about what's at stakes, devs, please.
