Welcome to this week's blurb!

Apologies on the absence of a blurb last week, I was working on getting all the visual elements of the blurb stored in a separate storage website since Discord is a little pesky about hotlinking now. However, while working on that, I soon realized that, as it turns out, images still remain for Discord hotlinks, the only difference now is that the links themselves just don't function any more and just leave the image behind. Imagine how I felt finding that out once I already got a decent chunk done AFTER last Monday when I could've released a blurb.

Anyways, I'm finally finished with the most busy month of the year in terms of work, and now I have even more free-time to work on the blurb! They've been working me like a dog (even though I'm a part-timer), but frankly, the more money, the better. With this additional free-time, I should be able to add some even more cool stuff into the blurb soon enough, so we'll just have to wait and see!

Now with all those shenanigans out of the way, lets take a look at what the community has been up to this past week:

Now we arrive at this week's user column!

Each week I will be asking members of the Brickadia community a question relevant to Brickadia at the moment, whether that be in regard to development, speculation, or even just hopes and desires surrounding the game itself.

The question this week is:

Given we have tools like the Wire Tool and the Manipulator soon coming into Brickadia, what other tool concepts do you think could make it into Brickadia?

Zoid

"A cool tool concept would be one that you can use to highlight certain bricks (similar to the Selector tool) then choose the highlight color and leave notes for the selected bricks like "add more detail" or something. You can color code your notes to make it more organized. I know this is kinda possible already but having a tool made just for this would be pretty helpful."

Critical Floof

"If I were to think of a tool concept that might get added, I would think of a better outliner tool. Though technically this was already added, I would argue that in it's current form, it's very much the forgotten tool. It would be awesome for a redesign which allows visually blueprinting common shapes, like: Circles, Triangles, maybe even polygons. 3D shapes would also be a nice help: Spheres, Tetrahedron or any other. This tool could also be expanded to automatically fill in the outlines for you; I find it quite annoying to make a big circle brick by brick. The outliner could also have a spline shape, which could be useful for organic lines or even help make organic looking roads. Another note I have for the tool is a configurable outline size, as the current tool doesn't support outlining small microbricks. Overall the outliner has amazing potential and usefulness to builders, I feel like an implementation of the outliner that fully realizes that potential could easily have a purpose in Brickadia."

Lantz

"A tool that acts as a catalog for both personal and public prefabs, essentially a specialized wand."

And now for the weekly comic panel!:

Fellas, it’s happening this week, for sure.

What’s happening this week?

The next devblog to be released.

It has already been confirmed by the developers that the next devblog is at the point where they are just finding images and pictures to choose for the blog itself, which should be quite telling of how finished the blog itself should be.

In that regard, what can we hope to see in this new devblog?

As mentioned in previous speculations regarding the content of this up-and-coming devblog, I imagine it has to be based on either vehicles or behaviors. Given the scope of what we’ve seen so far, I would bet SO much more heavily on vehicles given how much we’ve already seen out of behaviors from the developers these past couple months.

Taking that into account, we’ll just have to wait and see. And who knows, maybe the next devblog will release the day this blurb post releases, or perhaps even more inconveniently, it releases a day before, which means I’d have to rewrite this whole column! Not that I’m going to were that the case (as a matter of fact, if you’re reading this then you know for sure that’s the case).

With news so near, what could we possibly even speculate about? While there is not much to talk about at the moment, there is something that we could look into briefly as a small speculation point: the SteamDB page!

Updates for Steam Pages always happens, and for a game like Brickadia, the case is no different. What changes are there to look at, though?

One of the most recent changes is the removal of the category for Partial Controller Support and the removal of a screenshot from the Steam page. While the removal of the category itself is likely just a way of suggesting that full controller support may be possible. However, the removed screenshot is this:

I would imagine that part of the reason it was removed is that it was featuring a build that was based off a third-party game not affiliated with Brickadia, the game in question being UNDERTALE.

Of course, there are no negative connotations to the removal of the image, but it is interesting to see the presentation of the game continue to change to appeal more towards audiences in the realm of sandbox game, and I imagine featuring extravagantly detailed, intriguing, "packed" builds is something that the developers want to use to sell Brickadia for "what's possible" in the game.

Anyways, small tidbit over, get ready for the next devblog, fellas. See you all next week!
